Many thanks to Mr Tudgay, Mr Cushion and all the builders who have worked really hard to complete the following work during the school holidays! We think the rooms look really wonderful!

Foundation Stage 2 refurbishment

During the summer holidays our two FS2 (Reception Classes) will have a makeover with a new break out space, lowered ceilings, new carpets and decor.

Other plans for the Summer Holidays

If all goes to plan during the holidays the governors have approved the following upgrades and refurbishments.

• Decorated lobbies and hallways in the old building with new carpets throughout.
• A new PE store off the hall
• An update of the table storage room to include facilities for Food Technology
• The swapping of the library and the staff room with lowered ceilings throughout.

Improving the Outside Learning Environment

The Key Stage 1 Trim Trail has been installed and is proving very popular.  We now have plans to develop the Foundation Stage  and Children's Centre Outside Area (currently in the planning office hoping to gain planning permission.)

 Spending our £9000 Arts Award!

Yes it's true - we have been awarded £9000 to work with local Artists Gordon and Toni of No Added Sugar to celebrate the diversity of the children and families attending Gorse Hill Infants School and Children's Centre. 

Developing a Kitchen to serve both the Infant and Junior School

We have been sucessful in receiving funding from central government to develop an 'on site' kitchen to serve locally prepared food for our children.  We are currently in the early stages of design and need to ensure that we stay within budget.
