The Foundation Stage Staff

Kat Marshall and Pam Wiggins lead our Tiny Tigers Nursery Unit supported by Shirley Adams , Sarah Summers, Hayley Page, Claire Hewitt, Debbie Minns and Claire Crook.


Pam Wiggins joined the nursery team in September 2009.  She works in the Tiny Tigers Nursery Unit every morning and one afternoon per week.  During afternoons Pam works across the school to allow teachers to take their PPA time (Planning, Preparation and Assessment time).  Pam is Assistant Head and leads in Maths, Assessment, ICT and Gifted and Talented provision.

Kat Marshall joined Gorse Hill in September 2007.  She joined the nursery team in September 2008 and is the teacher for the Tiny Tigers Nursery Unit for 9 sessions per week. Kat's curriculum responsibilities include Knowledge and Understanding and Physical Development for the Foundation Stage and EAL (English as an Additional Language) coordinator for the whole school.

 Shirley Adams works as the Specialist Teaching Assistant in the Tiny Tigers Nursery Unit.  Shirley also leads in our community engagement organising monthly lunch club for our local senior citizens and holiday outings for families. Shirley has a Foundation Degree in Early Years.

Sarah Summers works as Creche Leader in the Children's Centre and also as Specialist Teaching Assistant in the Tiny Tigers Nursery Unit in the afternoons. Sarah has EYPS (Early Years Practitioner Status).

Hayley Page has worked at Gorse Hill for 3 years supporting a child with Special Needs.  Hayley now joins the Tiny Tigers Nursery Unit as a Teaching Assistant for the morning sessions.  She is also a MDSA (midday supervisor) for the main school.

Claire Hewitt joined the staff of Gorse Hill in April 2008 to cover maternity leave.  She now works in the 'SWAT' Team on a daily basis to support phonics learning in Y2 and then she joins the Tiny Tigers Nursery Unit as a teaching assistant for the afternoon sessions.

 Claire Crook works as a Special Needs TA in the Tiny Tigers Unit.

 Debbie Minns supports a child in the Tiny Tigers Unit. She has worked at Gorse Hill as an MDSA and supply TA since September 2006.

 Our Foundation Stage 2 classrooms were refurbished in August 2009 to create a unit to ensure the children have space to develop.  The unit is staffed by Mrs Mandy Aldridge, Mrs Hilary Williams, Mrs Jodie Tudgay and Miss Nicole Lynch.

Mandy Aldridge is our Foundation Stage Manager.  She started teaching at Gorse Hill in September 1997 and has worked both in Nursery (FS1) and Reception (FS2). Mandy is a member of the Senior Leadership team and mentors students and trainees within the school.  She also is Literacy Coordinator and Physical Development Coordinator for the Foundation Stage and CLLD Project Leader for the whole school.

Hilary Williams started working  for Gorse Hill Infants when her eldest daughter joined Reception in April '92 as a supply teacher as well as teaching the summer intake. Since 1996  Hilary has been a Foundation Stage teacher (part time and now full time).  She is responsible for Music across the school and also leads in Knowledge and Understanding and Creative Development for the Foundation Stage.

Jodie Tudgay has worked in Gorse Hill since September 2007 in the FS2 year group.  She works full time in the FS2 unit and supports Tiny Tiger's lunchclub each day.

Nicole Lynch joined the team in January 2009.  She worked mainly in Tiny Tigers and in the After School club.  She now works in the FS2 unit full time.  Her ambition is to become a teacher.
